Light the Night

GoMart Ballpark turns into West Virginia's biggest winter light festival, with more than 2.5 million lights choreographed to holiday music, carnival rides, ice skating and ice bumper cars. Open Sunday-Thursday 5-9 PM and Friday-Saturday 5-10 PM, closed Christmas Day. What to expect: It gets busy on weekend evenings - the city reported record crowds in past seasons - so weeknights are the calmer pick. Plan time beyond the lights themselves: the rink, rides and Santa photos all draw their own lines, and families tend to make a full evening of it.
